just so u all know...this is the second try at this entry. consider this a much shorter and CALMER version of the previously lost one.. after venting with the first one, i feel much better now...
to make long story short i decide to be lazy and go the point route
1. handyman came..discovered that there are missing parts (really? or did he simply lose it?) in our shower set
2. ming had to go to homedepot and get a new set
3. HD staff refuse to accept the exchange cus Ming bought it at another HD 40 minutes away.
4. Ming spoke to the manager explaning the time constrain and would like to purchase a new one here and return the other one later at another location.
5. Manager went nuts accusing Ming as a liar and said' what's to stop you from buying it here and return the damaged one here later as well?" (Ming should have said " how about INTEGRITY?, have you heard that word before?")
6. Ming bought the new thing anyway...went back to the clerk and apologized for the hassle but wanting to set the record straight. It's a simple rationale, really. If i want to cheat you guys, i wouldn't tell the truth at first place.
7 Ming went home....still pissed...and here: exhibit A.

the day couldn't have started worse than this. but i am clam now. I simply could not understand how people can be so rude. When i tried to explain that i wasn't trying to cheat them, the manager turned her head and tune me out!!! That was uncalled for...and that's why i was pissed. Truth to be told, i wasn't even yelling~
Sometimes i wonder if 'honesty' is the best policy. The same thing with our sofa-saga. I told the guy exactly what we were offered at another place.. some of you may consider me dumb. and maybe i am....but sometimes it's just impossible for me to fabricate things.....
the irony of the whole thing is: the police officier who pulled me over was the MOST PLEASANT guy i met this morning.

You're too nice, man. Remember, the customer is always right even when they're wrong. Go with that attitude and you'll save yourself a lot of heartache. And don't take no for an answer.
Also, stop being so asian cuz the rules are different.

i think that i am ready to let it go now~ went to a free APPLE seminar this afternoon....it was awesome~ sort of helped me get out of the funk~ =)

要是是我的話我會當場問她叫什縻名字,然後給她個下馬威, i would never leave the store feeling upset, humiliated, coz i know (just like what Tak said) customers are always right, and i will bitch till those people know that they are wrong. Ming, you should never go out shopping without me now. In the future, leave the bitching to me.
oh, and thanks to Dumas, ming, you should file a complain for that manager, that will make you feel better. or you can go back and ask that person to apologize to you, if not, you tell her that hell is on her way.

息事寧人 is the key lah~ =) it was no big deal come to think of it~ maybe the ultimate revenge is to return that item to the same store!!!!! ( just like what she has "suggested"....hahaha)
Wow, Haven't visited your blog for few days, so many things had happened. You even got stopped by a police?
People who work at HD, USA are nicer I guess. They never question you why returning the products. We have done this a lot during the renovation of our house. We know how "the game" should be played.
Ming, you sure are a nice guy.
BTW, if you are buying blinds/curtains from HD; make sure it's not the discontinued line. Our curtain is broken and they don't sell that style anymore. :(
