Today was a nice day.
It was, indeed. Yes, i did drive for over an hour to and from work. Yes, there are several traffice accidents in and out of the city (God bless those people~) And yes, i had to spend 10 minutes scraping the ice off the windshield.
But it was a good day. Relaxed and good. The school bus was cancelled so only 10 of my kids made it to school. A welcoming break for them, and for me. I was able to work with 5 of the kids struggling with math intensively, while the rest of them chilled and worked on their comic strip project. It was calm and serene, in my case and where i was at, also surreal in a way.
It was a good day because it snowed. After spending a decade in Canada, i still hold quite a romanticised fascination with snow. I love it. It's pure, refreshing, and simply beautiful. Like many beautiful things in life, it's also deadly. Then again, the world seems to quiet down to a whisper when it does snow. Being a part of the noisy modern world, i must confess that i wouldn't trade anything for the unique experience of silence.
Bring on the snow.

it is funny how people see the same thing so differently..
after spending almost a decade in Canada, the thing i dislike the most is the snow...it is dirty ( on the ground)and slippery ( maybe i should say the ice, but it is from the snow anyway)
one of the reason that i don't want to stay there is because of the snow ( it is covered with snow almost half of the year)
of course it is beautiful when it is snowing ( which i do enjoy)...but the accumulation...ey~~
but anyway, congratulations on your break!! i would like a day off too..^^
only less than half of your kids showed up? That is quite a New Year's gift from your class. Snow is beautiful but hazardous. I had wear "spiky" shoes yesterday and almost fell indoor because my boots were slippery.
You crazy~ Snow sucks. There have been 3-4 snow storms here in Seattle already. And it totally blows. People start freaking out about driving. Chains on bus tires start to wreck the already messed up road even more. School starts closing. News going haywire like they've never seen snow before. And the worse part is the weimobile can't go out.
Would the rain just come back and piss those snow away already? please?
I'm 4coco.
hahaha
snow sucks period.
