Obviously we cannot be young forever~ Many emperors and kings spent their lives seeking the secret portion that would dispell the myth of aging, none succeeded~ in fact, it would be rather scary if one would to stay forever 'young.' While none of us can beat the clock; we, however, can choose to stay 'YOUTHFUL" for as long as we intend to~ What is the meaning of being 'youthful'? I guess we all have different definition for it~ For me, i love working with kids; staying competitive on the court; dress young (without jack's approval though~); avoid responsibility once a while; and playing with toys~ Not the most 'healthy' attitude at times; nevertheless, i feel good being able to stay young at heart.
Last night, i brought my Nintendo DS Lite (another excuse to re-live the part of childhood i never had) to a friend's bday party~ While the girls embarked on several 'serious' conversation about life and motherhood; the 'BOYS" got into a grudge match over a pre-school game of "find the hidden piece" on my handheld videogame console. Watch 5 30-something yr old guys staring at the 2.5 inch LCD screen hoping to top one another for hours; i was having a great time! =)
I began to think about adulthood and responsibilty. Frightening thought, really. Adulthood and responsibility seem to go hand in hand sometimes. While i am never one to avoid responsibility; i tend to avoid thinking about adulthood. That is, until i decided to get married. Adulthood sounds scary~ The end of personal freedom; the dawn of fun; the beginning of sacrifices~ No more sponteneous trips to the neverland. What's also equally scary is the thought of all the expectations that comes with adulthood. You are expected to behave a certain way; dress a certain way; talk politely; act properly; no more monkey business. The night when 5 adults sitting in the livingroom playing a stupid gameboy game; i came to the realization that maybe adulthood does not have to be that scary~ Maybe we ought to be more serious about life; more responsible; more reflective. Yet, we can remain 'youthful' and still be a respectable member of the society.
Forever 'YOung'? Nah~ Growing up is the best thing in life.
Btw, i wrote all these only to justify the following~
for all your haters and nay-sayers out there~ it didn't even take me more than a hour to dethrone the 'king'~

Worth every single penny~

peace.
